Power Thought of the Week with Patricia Parham, Ph.D.
B2B In-Kind Trading
The products and services that your business offers are needed by other businesses, just as you need their services. Where might these needs and benefits intersect? Small businesses need accounting, advertising, counseling, building, computer, legal, administrative, rental space, marketing, production and writing services. Why not trade in-kind? Be opportunistic in exploring strategic alliances that might expand the services that you offer to clients, as well. For example, if you have products and another enterprise is available to provide the shipping service for those products, pool your resources. Rather than subcontracting, create a joint venture in which both businesses do what they do best.
