The power of a celebrity endorsement can undisputedly change the life of your business, your success and your bank account. It’s been proven over and over that the old saying, “it’s not what you know, but who you know,” remains true – just about every majorly successful individual is there because of a recommendation from the right person or two – magnify a recommendation into a celebrity endorsement, add a dash of skills and ideally, although not necessarily, some quality “what you know” and you’re golden.
Easier said than done? Not necessarily. Forget that celebrities are nearly impossible to contact directly, they’re bombarded with offers and requests, protected by overbearing assistants and lawyers and the fact that in their eyes you’re really just an Average Joe. Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Yes, there are insider tips and tricks to scoring the best information and making your climb to the top easier – we’ll cover that, but let’s start with the foundation, the will.
If you can’t see yourself on the top of the mountain, you’ll never get there. If the idea of celebrity endorsements or superstar networking is something you’ve never considered or believed you could really do, why not? Why are those obstacles greater than your will for ultimate success? It’s time for some mental re-wiring.
Too many intelligent, driven and otherwise successful individuals dream too small and sadly accept themselves as less than who they could be. Who cares if your reality is saving pennies, bitterly working for someone else or still struggling to make that first million – is your mind in celebrity status? If Bill Gates or Oprah sat down next to you, would you be able to speak with them in a calm, professional manner or would your inner teenager take over and become too nervous and insecure to make a move?
A great way to get started on getting your head in the right space for this endeavor is to envision yourself as successful as possible. Remember we used to do this as kids; dream big and believe it could happen? The same idea applies to success as adults. What does your ultimate, unlimited success look like?
Rule number one in attempting celebrity contact – if you aren’t mentally and emotionally centered to accept and execute success, don’t do it. One shot is usually all you’re given and once you leave a negative impression, it’s hard to orchestrate another opportunity, let alone redemption. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting some of the most famous people in the world – celebrities, executive producers, multi-millionaire entrepreneurs – often in unscheduled situations, but regardless of the details, I believe my successful interactions stem from having trained my confidence, mental focus and emotional control.
Anyone can find and meet a celebrity – not everyone can harness the moment’s potential. How you do it, why you do it and what you do with it after distinguish true golden success.
To your success,
