This month I attended an event in Seattle, Washington. It was an annual conference hosted by the Council of Multiple Listing Service. Speakers included highly recognized local and national professionals who address current real estate industry topics, including technology and legal updates. Some of these speakers were professors and some were attorneys in private practice or in the employ of the Federal Government. Also present was a tradeshow of thirty-five (35) MLS-related vendors.
Over ninety (90) association-executives/board officers came to the conference. They represented over 35 states and Canada. They dined over breakfast, lunch and dinner (realtors love to eat), attended workshops/educational seminars for most of the two (2) days. During breaks, these officers met the vendors who exhibited in the main lobby. This represented a great opportunity to learn more about the vendors’ offerings and services. Contracts were signed and follow-up dates were scheduled. These vendors all served the real estate industry and were technology-centric.
