THE SLOGANATOR: “You are Two Minutes and Two People Away from Your Next Referral.”

Rhonda L.Sher
As 2010 comes to an end, I thought I would share some of my favorite quotes that relate to networking. Words are powerful and when put into action, miracles can occur. Take a few minutes and read the words that others have spoken and see if you feel moved to take action. As you read these quotes, see which ones resonate for you and if you find one that really speaks to you, put it on a plaque or bulletin board and look at it daily for inspiration. When you are inspired, your results will show it. When you are tired, your results will show it. Stay inspired, think outside the box and make 2011 the year to grow your relationships and pay it forward with your networking.

Here are my favorite quotes. I would love if you would send me yours. You can send them to Rhonda@twominutenetworker.com. Have a wonderful new year.

"When you reach an obstacle, turn it into an opportunity. You have the choice. You can overcome and be a winner, or you can allow it to overcome you and be a loser. The choice is yours and yours alone. Refuse to throw in the towel. Go that extra mile that failures refuse to travel. It is far better to be exhausted from success than to be rested from failure."
- Mary Kay Ash, founder of Mary Kay Cosmetics

"Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you're generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don't make."
- Donald Trump, real estate and entertainment mogul

“You only win when you help others win.” -- Paul Zane Pilzer, Nobel Prize Winning Economist and Author

"The richest people in the world look for and build networks, everyone else looks for work."-- Robert T. Kiyosaki, Entrepreneur and Author

“It's the oldest, corniest piece of advice in the world but it still works. The strongest networks are built on friendship. Be a friend not only to the people in your network, but to the people who matter the most to the people in your network.” -- Harvey Mackay, Businessman and Author

“Think about it: everybody you know, everyone that you meet, also know about 250 people. So every time you cultivate a relationship with one new person, you have actually expanded your personal inventory by 250 people - every single time.” -- Bob Burg, Author and Speaker

“Networking is by far the most important aspect of business school. The classroom is a distant second.” -- Jay Devivo, Entrepreneur

“Social media should improve your life, not become your life!” -- Patrick Driessen, Consultant and Executive Coach

“The richest people in the world look for and build networks, everyone else looks for work.” -- Robert Kiyosaki, Entrepreneur and Author

"The best prospect is the client who has already dealt with you. The second best is the one referred to by a client who has dealt with you previously. The third best is the one referred to you by another trusted professional or friend." -- Marilyn Jennings, Author and Speaker

"It's not who you know. It's how well you maintain your Rolodex." -– Patricia Fripp, Author and Success Coach

“Networking with integrity creates a greater willingness of all parties to be part of a human conduit to serve as energy and resource to one another. Sometimes you will give more than you receive and sometimes you will get back more than you give. It’s not about keeping score.” -- Chris London, Editor of Manhatten Society

“Success in any field, but especially in business is about working with people, not against them.” -- Keith Ferrazzi, Author, Business Consultant, and Speaker

“Networking is an essential part of building wealth.” -- Armstrong Williams, American Political Commentator

“If you’re not networking, you’re not working.” -- Denis Waitley, Author, Psychologist and Motivational Speaker

“Network selectively. Nothing says “business newbie” like shotgun networking. You never know when someone might say yes is marketing for dummies. Take the time to build a profile of your ideal customers, and target your networking activities to reach them. Speak to those who are already predisposed to want what you offer. Almost any profile is better than anyone with a pulse.” -- Steve Pavlina, Personal Development Blogger

“The currency of real networking is not greed but generosity.” -- Keith Ferrazzi, Author, Business Consultant, and Speaker
