INTERNET MARKETING: THE SCIENCE OF SUCCESS: Getting to the Top of Google (Part 2)

Getting To The Top of Google Takes Commitment.
I think we can all agree that getting anywhere in business or in life requires real dedication. Assuming you have that, you need to then understand the very important reasons WHY providing truly focused website content is so beneficial to you.

1. Focused Content Allows Domination
If you want to really dominate your market where search engine results are concerned, then the more UNIQUE content you publish on a particular topic, the more the search engines will understand what you do best. Think of it this way, the search engines send out what are called spiders to crawl and index the ever-growing number of web pages. A spider is an automated robot of sorts and unless you tell it exactly what it is that you offer (and say it repeatedly), it has no way of distinguishing the content of your website from any of the other 5 billion sites crowding the Internet.

2. Focused Content Conveys Expertise
Just for a moment, let's set aside your personal considerations about whether or not you're an “actual” expert in your field. A search engine spider surely cannot make that determination but it can know that you've got more keyword-specific content on a particular topic than your competitor's site does. Remember, as long as the search engines “think” you are a leader in your given field, it will rank your site accordingly. The bigger opportunity is that when prospective customers find your site in the top search engine results, they too assume you have a certain level of expertise without even having visited your website, much less knowing your credentials.

3. Focused Content Supports Value
If you think about it, you'll quickly realize that our society equates a high level of compensation with a high degree of specialization. Who gets paid more... a nurse or a cardiac surgeon? Who earns more... the guy who sells you a beer or the vintner who produces fine French wines? The point I'm trying to make is that unless you can establish that you are the go-to resource for specific products or services, then you will find yourself competing on nothing more than price.

4. Focused Content Perpetuates Success
As Einstein discovered, things in motion tend to stay in motion. And when it comes to Internet marketing, those sites that rank highly tend to stay toward the top of search engine results. This is because the first five organic search results get a disproportionately huge amount of web searchers clicking those links. And the more clicks you get to your website, the more Google sees that consumers are consistently validating your website as a relevant to the search term used. Above all, fresh and unique content gives substance and credibility to your site and those are two essential reasons why people bookmark, share and come back to a particular website.

Use This Excellent Tool
As you produce new articles, blog posts, and white papers for your site, you'll want to determine that your copy writing is sufficiently rich with those keywords (and keyword phrases) that have known search demand behind them. You can use Google's free Adwords Keyword Tool to research and come up with your keywords.

Then, before you publish new content, you'll want to use those same keywords throughout your piece such that the keyword density is near 4% but does not exceed 4%. Repeating keywords too often in your copy writing is known as keyword stuffing and can result in a penalty by all major search engines.

There's another free and super useful tool to do live analysis of your writing BEFORE you finally publish it on your website. Remember, always write with a clear purpose (to get to the top of Google)!
