This week I was honored to speak at the Annual Greater Susquehanna Keystone Innovation Zone Venture Plan/Business Plan Competition Kickoff Dinner at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
As an entrepreneur who loves to connect and work with other entrepreneurs, it was a thrill to know that one of the entrants would be recognized with a $20,000 grand prize ($15,000 second prize) to further pursue their dream.
The topic of my talk was about the relationship between networking and entrepreneurialism. The key to securing financial capital, of course, lies within proving to the right people that you have the right idea backed with the appropriate amount of evidence (intellectual capital) and the right team of individuals to help you pull it off (relationship capital) - encapsulated (effectively) in a business plan.
The announcement of the finalists will be made on February 26, 2010 at Bucknell University and the winners will be announced on April 15, 2010 at Bloomsburg University.
My thanks, once again, to Kelly O'Brien Gavin of the Greater Susquehanna Keystone Innovation Zone for inviting me. It was a blast and I wish all participants the best of luck in their dreams.
