The Art of Managing Yourself

“Dost thou love life? Then do not squander time, for that is the stuff life is made of.”
- Benjamin Franklin

Everything in life happens in a framework of time. In order to network effectively, you need to have the time to network. The most important thing for you to do is to establish a meaning in life, to establish a mission, and to create something you love to do. Your mission becomes something you organize time around.

One thing to realize is that time management is not the goal. No, you can’t manage time. You can only manage yourself. Before mentioning the details of managing yourself, I would like to say that management should not be overly-rigid. You should spend a portion of the day being spontaneous, having fun, and doing things you love other than work. Of course your time should be balanced between work, family life, and time spent with your friends.
