Dr. Patricia Parham's Power Thought of the Month

Power of Self in Service

How much is what you do the same as what you love? When what you love fills a need in the world, self and service meet in a powerful way. That service becomes a part of you and propels you to greater heights in terms of improving and expanding the service. Your business grows powerfully as you fill a need with more precision and potency.

Harvey Mathason's Creativity in NetWorking

I have a keychain that says “You don’t know me, you just wish you did.” What a marvelous way to think? Of course I am not saying that you should be conceited but rather you should be confident that someone desires to know you. Remember that the only thing you can offer people is what you are and what you will become. Heroclitus said “One cannot step into the same river twice.” This quote is about change. Thus, no two networking situations are exactly the same nor are you exactly the same. One thing you can ask yourself is how you are changing, how you have changed in the last five years, and finally, how you would like to change in the next five years. This dynamic changing you, is the person that people wish they know.

"Holistic Placement Service NetWorks for Success", by Meira Findel

This month’s health and wellness article is about a woman that has been in the holistic arena all her life.

I first met Lynda Mastronardo at my home. After she came to our spiritual book club we quickly became friends and looked for opportunities to help each other’s businesses. Referrals and recommendations poured both ways (constant networking…).

"Let's Hear from the Experts...", by Matthew Best

Lobbyists. When you see that word, if you are like most people, you get a negative reaction. The recent Jack Abramoff scandals do not help the image of the profession. But we don’t have to look at lobbying as a negative.

"NetWorking Works in Atlanta", by Glen Gould

It's the "dawg days" of summer in Hotlanta (Atlanta, GA) and with the back to schoolers and late summer vacationers, one might expect that networking would take a back seat to relaxing in the hammock with a cool sweet tea. You haven't lived until you've had sweet tea in the south!

"Tuning Your NetWorking Engine...", by Adam J. Kovitz

Last month, during the height of gasoline prices (well...hopefully the height anyhow, now that they’re retreating for the moment), I introduced a new measurement: Referrals per Gallon (RPG) to determine NetWorking efficiency (as a recovering engineer I can’t help but think about this stuff from time to time – my apologies to all the right-brained NetWorkers out there). This month I want to expand more upon the implications of RPG so you can tune your own NetWorking engine for optimum efficiency!

"Extreme NetWorking in Hawai'i", by Sandy C. McKee

I was browsing through the newspaper last week and I saw an ad for the Hawai’i Jaycees event “Extreme Networking 2006.” It promised readers a program that would “change the way you think about networking” which would, in turn, “profoundly change your life.” Bold promises, I thought.

Then, I saw the speaker line-up:
