I have a keychain that says “You don’t know me, you just wish you did.” What a marvelous way to think? Of course I am not saying that you should be conceited but rather you should be confident that someone desires to know you. Remember that the only thing you can offer people is what you are and what you will become. Heroclitus said “One cannot step into the same river twice.” This quote is about change. Thus, no two networking situations are exactly the same nor are you exactly the same. One thing you can ask yourself is how you are changing, how you have changed in the last five years, and finally, how you would like to change in the next five years. This dynamic changing you, is the person that people wish they know.
