Why Is Running a World-Class Networking Experience?
By ZALE TABAKMAN, Canadian Bureau Chief

Have you ever heard the expression "The Loneliness Of The Long Distance Runner"? Other than the name of a book and a movie, I have no clue what they are talking about. Long distance running has shown to be one of the best opportunities to meet people that I have had in years.

In recent months, I have had a significant challenge...to discover and identify for our TNNW subscribers, the very best of the "mover and shaker"organizations in the arts industries. Doctor Cindy Zafis - on the winding road to success
By LOUISE FLODIN, Entrepreneurial Editor

"I went to college during the computer training and information years. I was fascinated by how computers could assist research and the information on line was awe inspiring. Being shy and reserved the prospect of working with a machine that didn’t give me attitude or drama had an allure I wanted in my life. Another major draw for me was I could work anytime of the day or night. My computer didn’t care if my hair was brushed or I was impeccably dressed. My degree in Computer Science trained me to problem solve, this skill has sustained me and propelled me to find the missing piece to any puzzle. I make this process fun and enjoyable."

Solo Sez Practitioners Are Not Alone
By SCOTT R. FORCINO, Esq., Legal Editor

This month I explored the world of the solo practitioner. By definition, this means the attorney that works alone, possibly with an office staff and/or a paralegal to handle routine matters. A web-site ABA Solo Center, however, gives these solos a voice to each other and forms a valuable network and professional resource. This site is a Listserv and is free and is available through the ABA (American Bar Association). Attorneys can either read the online discussions and not publicly participate or may respond to another solosez member with a private email. The one rule of participation states that one must send a message introducing themself to the group prior to posting a message to the group.

By RITA WILHELM, Contributing Writer

Squidoo is a very interesting and unique type of social networking site, and it happens to be a great way to network your website, and market your business. I’ve noticed that many Squidoo ‘lenses’ rank very high in the Google’s search engines.

People, Power & Possibiliites: Without a Support System
By DONNA FISHER, Contributing Writer

It seems like there have been a number of young Hollywood celebrities in the news lately, not for their accomplishments, but for destructive choices and brushes with the law. And several times I've heard the commentators say that part of the problem is "they don't have a support system" or "they need a support system".

Power Thought of the Week: Who’s the right partner?
By PATRICIA PARHAM, Ph.D., Contributing Writer

Good strategic partners each benefit from the alliance, moving both in the direction of greater growth and profits. Be sure that both clarify WIIFM, what’s in it for me. Use your networking to identify potential partners who share at least one or two of your core values in order to maximize the probability of success. From those core values craft a compelling, shared mission that will drive you to success.
