A NOTE FROM THE CHAIRMAN: Five Years of TNNW, Part IV

As we conclude our five year anniversary this week, I have been looking back over our first five years; the milestones that made a difference and have kept us growing over the years.

By January, 2008, we had grown to over 30 writers, we were weekly and we had some great names in networking on board.

By February/March I had learned that my father was diagnosed with Stage 3 Pancreatic Cancer and my attention was suddenly turned away from TNNW and my other "regular" responsibilities. By May, I was ready to walk away as my "labor of love" became a "ball and chain".

It was at this time that my good friend, confidant and "blood-brother-in-arms", Douglas Castle entered the picture.

I had first became of aware of Douglas after he commented upon my articles back in 2007. I responded back to him and within a matter of months, became very good friends.

It didn't take much convincing on either of our parts, but Douglas agreed to help me run TNNW while I took care of my father.

My father passed on September 22, 2008. I was tired and weary. For the first time in TNNW history, I would not be writing my regular monthly column - Douglas was our "guest writer" for the month of October, 2008 and gave me the time I needed to recuperate for the following month.

By the end of 2008, not only would I recuperate, but I would rejuvenate as well as Douglas and continued building TNNW 2.0. We decided first and foremost that a.) networking was only the beginning as it leads to building better businesses, better teams, better jobs and a whole lot more, and b.) TNNW is more than just a newsletter.

Since then, we've added some phenomenal writers, we've started a separate publication: The BLUE TUESDAY Report, we've added disgustingly-named widget: The National Newspicker and a proprietary suite of services for our members. We introduced and re-branded TNNW as the world's first Global Interworked Cooperative Business Community (GICBC).

While it's been fun to look back upon our first five years as an organization, it's the next five I'm really looking forward to. And whether or not you have been with us for all five years or are just beginning your relationship with TNNW, we ask you to stay with us as things are about to get even more thrilling!

All my best,

Adam
